How To Submit Claim Report

To submit a claim report as a freelancer, follow these steps:

Check the Platform’s Claim Policy: Each freelancing platform (like Upwork, Fiverr, or Freelancer) has specific guidelines for submitting claims or disputes. Review their help or support section to understand the required documentation and eligibility criteria for claims.

Gather Supporting Documentation: Collect evidence to support your claim, such as screenshots of conversations with the client, payment records, project requirements, milestones, and any deliverables you’ve provided. This will help validate your case.

Submit a Claim or Dispute:

Upwork: Go to "Contracts" in your dashboard, find the contract in question, and select “Submit Dispute.” Upwork requires mediation before any further action is taken.
Fiverr: Open the order and click "Resolution Center." You can ask for a mutual resolution with the buyer or escalate it to Fiverr’s support team if necessary.
Freelancer.com: Go to the “Disputes” section under the project details and select “Create a New Dispute.” Freelancer.com provides a resolution process that includes a review by a mediator.
Communicate Clearly and Professionally: Describe the issue concisely and stick to the facts. Explain why you are submitting the claim, referring to the original project agreement, deadlines, or other commitments that were not met.

Wait for Mediation or Arbitration: Once submitted, the platform may mediate between you and the client. If a resolution cannot be reached, some platforms allow you to escalate the claim to arbitration, although there may be fees involved.

Follow Up as Needed: If there are delays in processing the claim, check your support tickets or contact customer service to ensure that your case is progressing.

For specific guidance, refer to the customer support or FAQ sections on your chosen platform’s website, as each has its own policies and timelines.
